Andrea Waldie is currently the CEO of Geoscientists Canada, the national umbrella organization of the self-regulatory bodies licencing professional geoscientists in Canada, and Treasurer of the Global Geoscience Professionalism Group.
Prior to joining Geoscientists Canada, Andrea spent over 20 years in the mineral exploration and mining industry. She served as the Executive Director & Registrar of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, now Professional Geoscientists Ontario, from 2007 to 2013. From 2008 through 2021, Andrea served as the volunteer business manger of the APGO Education Foundation.
Andrea is a strong proponent of communicating the importance and wonders of geoscience to the public; promoting and supporting geoscience professionalism; and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession.
Andrea holds a B.Sc. in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo, is a registered professional geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario and British Columbia, and a Fellow of Geoscientists Canada (FGC).
